Here at MilPages we strive to give you what you need to become a blogger and get into the community. However, there comes a time where someone might need to know what our Terms of Service is. So the following is what we ask people to know about the use of MilPages.
1. Content of your blog – You blog is just that, your’s. With that in mind it should be your original content and not fed off of someone else’s creativity. We reserve the right to remove content found to be copyrighted or someone else’s work. Any content in question will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken to remove content in violation of our terms. We also reserved the right to remove whole blogs if continued violations occur with the same user. We take the content of MilPages very serious and expect our community will to in monitoring what is blogged.
Content found to be completely unrelated to anything military are also subject to editing and possible removal. SPAM is known to sign up for a free blog to lay links to sites that are completely useless. We take quick action to remove these types of blogs as they are not welcome at MilPages. We are providing a free service to those that want to blog about military ideas.
2. Content of your profile – Your profile is located in the public domain. Therefore it should be dressed as a public profile. There should be nothing beyond a R rating in your profile. We are all adults and therefore need to reflect a tasteful presentation of who we are. Anything in the adult orientation will be removed and appropriate actions to remove the member will be taken. This is Myspace or Facebook where you can hide your profile. If it degrades the site then it will be removed. You are allowed to put whatever you want in your profile as long as it is not racist, demeaning, destructive to another person, or perverted in an X-rated fashion. If in doubt ask our staff.
3. Use of content – The content on MilPages is owned by the member that posted the content. No one is authorized to use someone else’s work without the appropriate permission of the author. MilPages will alert the member of improper use when found. It is up to the author to take appropriate actions. If the content is duplicated on MilPages then the offending content will be deleted. MilPages does reserve the right to use portions of content in advertising or testimonial use. MilPages will never use entire copies of work of an author. This use of content be used in rare cases for marketing of MilPages only.
4. Privacy – Since MilPages is a public forum of blogging and a community we do not hide content. We ask that you be vigilant in the information you provide in your profile and your writing. We do not ask for personal information that will create vulnerabilities for our users. Please never provide things like a Social Security number, banking information, or any other type of information that can be used toward identity theft. Please take this serious and if we do find this information on the site it will be completely removed immediately.
5. Responsibility of MilPages – We are responsible for providing a quality platform for the members of the site. We are not responsible for content that is posted or actions of certain members. We take action to prevent misuse and wrongful actions as they are identified. However, unless MilPages creates content that is unlawful we do not claim responsibility for content provided by the community. We do cooperate with any law enforcement agency that investigates a potential crime involving our site. We hope #5 will never be invoked but there is always that possibility.
6. Data Collection – We do not collect data of our users except for what is publicly written. We do not track your use of the site or the content that is created. We do log IP addresses for use in identifying possible criminal actions. We do not track for anything else.
7. Advertising – MilPages reserve the right to advertise on all free blogs to help pay for resources of the website. While this is a free website advertising helps MilPages stay alive to serve members. Supporters will receive no advertising on their blog. Footer credits of the templates do not count as advertising. Proper credit to the software developers and theme creators are part of the licensing agreement between MilPages and third parties. Advertising is ads that are presented in addition to credits.
The Terms and Services can be updated in the future and agreeance must be accepted to remain a member of MilPages. If you wish to not be a member due to an update please just email us and we will proceed to remove you at your request. An email is required for this so we have proof of your request.
